A woman is suing the operators of a Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurant in Edwardsville after she allegedly fell on the premises.
Plaintiff Stacy Tackett filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Harvard 159, LLC, St. Louis County Realty Co., Qdoba Restaurant Corporation and Grease Masters, LLC.
According to the lawsuit, the defendants individually and through its agents, owned and operated a Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurant in Edwardsville. Tackett states that on Nov. 10, 2022, she was an invitee on the premises of the restaurant. She claims that while she was on the premises, she was in an area where there was no exterior lighting and stepped into a manhole that was left uncovered, severely injuring herself.
According to Tackett, the defendants negligently allowed a dangerous condition to develop on the property, putting visitors at risk.
Tackett alleges that as a result of the defendants’ alleged negligence, she has sustained serious injuries which have caused her to experience pain, suffering, and mental anguish. She alleges her injuries will impact her ability to enjoy normal life. Tackett adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.
