A railroad employee claims he was injured on the job after a switch malfunctioned.
Plaintiff Steven Bailey filed a lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Norfolk Southern Railway Company, citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Bailey was employed by Norfolk Southern Railway Company as a conductor-switchman. Bailey claims that on Feb. 9, 2020, he was injured on the job when a switch he was attempting to operate malfunctioned.
According to Bailey, the defendant negligently failed to provide reasonably safe working conditions to protect the safety of its employees.
Bailey claims he has suffered severe injuries, which have caused him to incur medical expenses and will require the continued services of medical staff to recover. He adds that his injuries have caused him to experience pain and suffering, lost wages and benefits and that they will impact his ability to enjoy normal life.
The plaintiff seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs.
