A driver allegedly ran a red light iin St. Louis and then fled the scene of an accident that left another driver with a traumatic brain injury.
Cathleen L. Vano and Angela Brickman, co-guardians of the Estate of Steven A. Vano, a disabled adult, filed a complaint May 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Eliana Augusta Rose Wilds, alleging negligence.
Steven Vano was operating his 2017 Mercedes-Benz near the intersection of Chouteau Avenue and South 7th Street in St. Louis on Nov. 23, 2020, according to the plaintiffs’ complaint. They allege that Wilds, who was also approaching the intersection, ran a red light and struck Vano’s vehicle “at a high rate of speed” and then fled the scene. The plaintiffs further allege that as a result of the collision, Vano suffered “catastrophic” injuries, including a traumatic brain injury.
The plaintiffs allege Wilds failed to obey the traffic signal, was speeding and failed to keep a proper lookout.
The plaintiffs seek more than $50,000 and all other proper relief.
