An Amazon delivery contractor claims she was delivering a package when the front porch stairs at a Shiloh home because unattached, causing her to fall.
Victoria Melson filed a complaint March 15 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jeremy Bochantin and Lacey Christ, alleging negligence.
According to her complaint, Melson was working as a contractor for Amazon Flex on April 12, 2019. She alleges that while delivering a package to the front porch of the defendants’ property on Tanglebrook Drive in Shiloh, the stairs she was walking down became unattached and caused her to fall to the ground.
Melson claims she suffered injuries to her back, side and hip and that the injuries are “severe, permanent and progressive in nature.”
She alleges the defendants were negligent for failing to remedy or remove the hazardous condition on their property, causing an unreasonable risk of harm. Melson also alleges the defendants failed to barricade or block off the dangerous condition to keep the plaintiff and others from accessing the stairs.
Melson seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief.
